Innovation Ecosystems

Europe faces major Societal Challenges, ranging from the digital and green transitions to health and security. Only by innovation and collaboration of different stakeholders on regional, national and European level, we will be able to tackle these Grand Challenges. With the upcoming publication of the New European Innovation Agenda it is high time for a discussion on how to increase the potential of our innovation ecosystems: environments where so-called quadruple helices join forces for innovation towards common goals: knowledge institutions, public stakeholders, businesses and citizens need to cooperate. For that reason, Neth-ER, VH, MBO Raad and TNO will organize a series of events around innovation ecosystems. Please save the dates for now! The registration link will follow soon.

17 June: Hit or Miss - Fostering dynamic ecosystems

On the 17th of June “Hit or Miss” is the first organized event of the series, organized by VH and MBO Raad.

Following the title ‘hit or miss’, we examine what works through best practices, and which further support is needed to foster dynamic ecosystems and better connect innovation initiatives around Europe.

Format: This will be an on-site event
Time: 10.00 – 12.30, with the option to join a network lunch afterwards offered by UASNL
Location: The House of the Dutch Provinces, Trierstraat 59-61 Brussels

Orchestrating Innovation - The role of Europe (postponed!)

This webinar on “Orchestrating Innovation” is the second in the Neth-ER webinar series on Innovation Ecosystems. This webinar is organized by TNO.
The webinar is postponed and will take place after the summer holidays. The new date will follow as soon as possible.

Orchestrating innovation is a scientific and practical field whose perspective and methods are very useful for the success of innovation. With that in mind, orchestrating innovation addresses the following aspects:

  1. Europe is a fertile ground for creating innovative collaborations
  2. Organizing innovation and education at regional, national and European level is crucial for tackling global challenges.
  3. Public-private partnerships can succeed when individual interests are recognized and acknowledged.
  4. Orchestrating innovation provides concrete tools to gain insight into and coordinate these interests (for agenda-setting, organization, governance, financing, etc.).

The webinar aims to answer the following questions:

  • To what extent can orchestrating innovation answer European questions such as the green and digital transition and strategic autonomy?
  • Why is Europe important to orchestrate innovation for Grand Challenges ?
  • How does Europe impact your personal leadership in Orchestrating Innovation? How can the EU support innovation ecosystems?
