Benchmarking
Dossier description
Benchmarks are comparison tools which are agreed on by Member States and/or knowledge institutes. Indicators and benchmarks are essential to test the progress of strategic policy: it concerns testing the progress made and it supports the exchange of experiences and practical examples.
Benchmarks in the field of education are:
- Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA);
- Assessment Higher Education learning outcomes (AHELO);
- Programme for the International Assessment of Adult Competences (PIAAC);
- Teaching and Learning International Survey (TALIS);
- Thematic revision of tertiary education;
- European statistical system (ESS).
