International Cooperation

Dossier description

International cooperation in the area of education takes different forms on European level. For instance, there is a significant difference between cooperation in secondary education and cooperation in higher education.

The European vocational education and training area (EVETA) includes the involvement of 33 countries while the European higher education area (EHEA) is a cooperation between 47 countries.

EVETA has no special policy framework for international cooperation. There are however different bilateral agreements between the European Union (EU) and third countries such as the ATLANTIS programme with the United States.
