Services Neth-ER

Neth-ER offers various services to its members and their constituencies, involved ministries and other interested parties. On this page you find an overview of these services with a brief explanation. If you have any further questions about them, please contact Neth-ER.

Neth-ER offers the following services:

Private access to the member section of the Nether-portaal
The Nether-portaal consists of a public English and Dutch and a Dutch member section. Employees of members, constituency or involved ministry can get personal access to the members’ section of the Nether-portaal through a login and password. In this section you can find information about European policies, programs and organisations. The members section contains both actual and historical information through a dossier tracking system and gives the possibility to participate in online discussion groups. Please, Register to the Dutch Nether-portaal now!

Demand driven personal Nether-berichten
Employees of members, constituency or involved ministry are entitled to personal Nether-berichten. These automatically sent e-mails (daily or weekly) provide demand-driven information on the basis of your personal interest. The Nether-messages are send in plain text or as a pdf attachment. After you have registered yourself for the Nether-portaal you should make a personal profile of European dossiers and organisations in order to receive Nether-berichten. With this profile, you indicate which dossiers and organisations have your interest.

Supply driven free Nether-nieuws
Neth-ER publishes a monthly free Nether-nieuws. The Nether-nieuws is an e-mail with Word- and ODF attachments and contains a compilation of the major European news in the field of education, research and innovation of the last month. It also contains the news and an overview of relevant conferences related to education, research and innovation. Anyone is free to Subscribe to Nether-nieuws’.

Presentation or speech by policy advisor
Our policy advisors can contribute to internal discussions of members and constituency on various European issues by giving a presentation or a speech during an internal seminar or discussion. You can also make an appointment in Brussels or in your own location with the policy advisors.

Structural representation
Neth-ER has the possibility to represent the interest of members and their constituencies in Brussels and in other European networks. If this happens on a regular basis, we refer to this as structural representation. Representation of interests is limited to carrying out points of view, but also providing feedback on the response and identification of European developments.

Incidental representation
The principles for structural representation can also be applied in case of incidental representation. In this case it is possible that Neth-ER represents the interests of the members and their constituency.

Nether-borrel
Neth-ER organises a drink in Brussels on an annual basis. Representatives of the members, their constituency or involved ministries will be invited as well as employees from European and national organisations and particular guests in order to exchange ideas.

Nether-seminar
As an employee of a member you can ask the policy advisors to organise a Nether-seminar about a relevant European subject. If necessary, representatives from other members, their constituency, involved ministries, European and national organizations and other experts can be invited.

Nether-brainstormsessie
As an employee of a member you have the possibility to ask the policy advisors to organise a Nether-brainstormsessie about a relevant European subject to expand the knowledge and policymaking in your organisation.

(Strategic) Advice
As an employee of a member, constituency or involved ministry you have the possibility to ask the policy advisors to give a strategic advice on a relevant European subject or (an expected) development.

(Scientific) Research
As an employee of a member, constituency or involved ministry you have the possibility to ask the policy advisors to supervise a (scientific) research on a relevant topic (or expected) development. The research will be executed by one of our student trainees. Examples can be find on our ‘internship webpage’.

Nether-flits
Incidentally Neth-ER supplies bulletins about specific subjects with extra priority. Often it  concerns informal news which hasn’t reached the stage to be published. This kind of incidental bulletins is indicated with Nether-flits. They are meant for a limited number of persons, frequently the liaison officers of our members who are in charge of a topic. The Nether-flits will be send as an e-mail. It also appears on the personal page of the selected persons.

Possibility to ask questions
As an employee of a member, constituency or involved ministry, you have the possibility to ask the policy advisors of Neth-ER to answer questions about European policy, programmes, organisations or developments. The employees will try to give you a clear answer as quickly as possible.

Receiving delegations
The policy advisors of Neth-ER receive delegations from members, their constituencies, Dutch and foreign ministries, European and national organisations from both public and private sector on a regular basis. At these meetings the policy advisors indicate (individual) interests of the members and invite, if required, representatives of one or more members.

Guidance and training of (government-) trainees
As an employee of a member, constituency or involved ministry, you have the possibility to work as a trainee up to six months at Neth-ER in Brussels. In principle this could take place within the framework of personal development and/ or professionalisation. During the period you will be at Neth-ER in Brussels, have your own workspace, the infrastructure and the personal support from the Neth-ER.

Use of flexible workspace
As an employee of a member, constituency or involved ministry, you have the possibility to use a workspace in Brussels. To ensure that you can actually use this workspace, it is recommended to reserve this at least 24 hours in advance. Please contact MRs. Karin Giebel at giebel@neth-er.eu to arrange this.

Use of meeting rooms
As an employee of a member, constituency or involved ministry you have the possibility to use our meeting rooms in Brussels. Neth-ER has three meeting rooms of different size which can be used. The meeting rooms can also be used by other interested parties. More information about this subject can be found at ‘Meeting rooms’.

Custom-made services
Any organisation can request Neth-ER for custom made services, such as renting their own workspace or office. For specific requests, please contact Mr. Fried Kramer at kramer@neth-er.eu
